What did you do different from Baja in how you adjusted the shocks?

Lol I was going to text you and ask if you made it through the event without breaking anything—I should have known better :) But really you have not had many problems despite all the action it has seen since March. How many shafts is that for you now?

Same setup, just a few more clicks on the shocks in front. At TRR since I was familiar with the terrain, I was able to tell the difference more than in unfamiliar Baja.

This will be my 4th axle replacement. Its evened out now, two per side. LOL

Oh, and found that my Boatecs on the passenger side broke and my liners kept falling off.

@RDFTS you're out here doing cool shit and breaking stuff doing jumps and shit... I just get my lights broken by some tweaker trying to steal it by prying it out.

Are the bump pads from forged OffRoad?


Yes they are the forged off-road bump pads for stock bumps.

Next upgrade will be a bump kit. Still trying to decide which one I want to go with.

Install is complete. Getting the tires swapped to new Icon Alloy wheels now. I’ll get some pics up later.

Thank you Chris Kelly, Freedom Motorsport, for the Rigid light brackets. After trying elchipo Amazon ones, that failed twice offroad, these Rigid one are super solid and are dead on. Nice beefy light mounts. That nyloc in the first image has a good chance of coming off since the bolt is not long enough to get into the nylon lock portion. In aviation three threads showing are required to insure a secure fastener.

Actually the bolts are long, and plenty thread on the other side for the nut. they are mounted solid no way for a failure.

The point I was making is a nyloc is no good as a locking fastener unless the threads of the bolt go all the way thru the nylon and 3 threads are showing beyond the end of the nyloc. As far extra threads showing on the other side, that means the bolt is not the proper one. There should be no threads thru the mounting; only unthreaded bolt shank. The proper length bolt has just enough threads for a washer, nyloc with at least 3 threads showing. Any more, or less, the bolt is not the proper length and the combination (nut/bolt) is subject to failure. Aviation grade bolts come in increments of 1/8" for proper length sizing. They only have enough threads for one washer, nyloc, and 3 threads showing beyond the nyloc.

Yes, I know. A Ford Raptor is not an aircraft, so one can do whatever they want. But in off-roading there are far more stresses than typical, so it would be beneficial to adhere to stricter standards. At least in a truck, if something happens, you can pull over to the side. Aircraft don't enjoy that benefit, as everything has to be perfect from the beginning.

Oh, I've seen your post on Facebook and been helping with some post about the shackles since I have the same leafs and shackles myself.

Same thing @Gary E is talking about too, the bolt is too short now with the beefier shackles and we can no longer get 3 threads through the nylon. I used locktite because this was a concern for me.
