what backspacing and offset

Why aren't all wheels stated as backspace?

Offset and wheel width must be considered to determine backspace. Offset without wheel width has insufficient information for any meaningful application. I hate offset!
Give me wheel width and backspace ("frontspace" is easily figured).
Why mix Metric and English and expect any easy calculations?

ok i read up some more i would like to go with the smaller backspace (4.5") to give the truck a wider stance and a deeper look on the wheels. anyone know if this will rub or not with the mid or top perch?

Let me demonstrate my concern with using the word "offset" as related to backspace.

A wheel 9" wide with a +24mm offset has a backspace of 5.4"
But a wheel 7.5" wide with a +24mm offset has a backspace of 4.7"

They only do the Fuel Octane 17x8.5 with a +14 offset (perfect fit imo) or -5 offset (a more aggressive fit stick out of the fenders a little).

well ik went 4.5 back space -5 offset. they showed up in 2 business days. just waiting on the lug nut kit for them. trying to schedule the perch mod with a shop in nj.

i bought fuel octanes 20x9 and 35x12.50 trail grapplers. the rims are +1 offset and when i bought the package i had to idea what all this shinaniganz was about.
have em ready will get my truck soon they better look good.
anyone else have a 0 or a +1 offset with pics? id like to see how it looks lol
