I had to borrow my dad's Harley F-150 ('11) because my Dodge was in the shop getting a cosmetic repair done. In these two days, I realized that the Ford Sony setup SUCKED. Both quality and volume. The only good thing I had to say about it, is that it played music. What are you guys doing to combat this? If/when I order my Raptor, I plan on having the touchscreen head unit (801a, right?). What kind of speakers can the doors take? How many are across the truck? etc etc. The reason I ask this is because my Ram, in all of Chrysler's glory, is a bitch when it comes to door speakers. I haven't even changed mine out because of the setup they have going on.

I'm not much help for you. I think the "radio" is just fine.
But I listen to mostly talk shows (sports and political).

I'm more interested in throwing my mod money into the suspension.

Lots of talk here about sound mods. Most go with performance mods first though. All depends on what your intentions are.

I swapped out my speakers - 5x7s front and rear with A-pillar tweeters (JL C5 570 components in front, JL C3 570 coax in rear) and added a JL W0 10" sub with JL 250/1 amp.

What this accomplished was:
- Used the JL crossover to drive the front tweeters, producing slightly louder and more clear highs.
- Less slop and distortion all around
- A little more fill from the rear with the JL crossovers set high.
- Added bass
- Higher distortion free volume and maybe just a tad of overall volume

For being a straight speaker swap and simply adding a sub the difference is definitely worth the time. If ear bleeding volume is what you're after this is not the setup. If more sound quality at high volume and more bass is what you're after, this is it.

I should also add that the door panels are insanely easy to remove and you can power an aftermarket sub amp with the signal wires to the factory sub by using a LOC

with the 13 and up trucks we use sound processors to convert signal. the quality of sound depends on which processor you go with. for an ease of use and on a budget i recommend the jl audio cleansweep and summing device. for sound quality i recommend the mosconi 6to8. after the sound processor you can add any amp and speaker you want. jl audio hd amps work really well as well their speakers for a close to drop in fit. they have more 5x7 speakers available than most companies. if you want to step it up and dont mind a little cutting behind the door panel you can go with focal speakers.

O shit really? My friend blew them both out, what if I don't have all the papers and stuff still?
the serial numbers are tracked, but if you bought them from a jl authorized retailer, you just pay shipping. check with the shop where you bought them and see if you can get a copy of your receipt.
