What are yall doing about the stock stereo?

the serial numbers are tracked, but if you bought them from a jl authorized retailer, you just pay shipping. check with the shop where you bought them and see if you can get a copy of your receipt.

with the 13 and up trucks we use sound processors to convert signal. the quality of sound depends on which processor you go with. for an ease of use and on a budget i recommend the jl audio cleansweep and summing device. for sound quality i recommend the mosconi 6to8. after the sound processor you can add any amp and speaker you want. jl audio hd amps work really well as well their speakers for a close to drop in fit. they have more 5x7 speakers available than most companies. if you want to step it up and dont mind a little cutting behind the door panel you can go with focal speakers.

I was looking through the threads on swapping out the systems, possibly want to do mine in stages. i have a 2013 supercrew, and im thinking of doing it in stages. First the speakers then amps. I get the jist of the whole layout with LOC's, crossovers for the component front speakers and such. But im a bit hazy on the finer points to it all. Seeing as this post is almost 3 years old would you have any updated recommendations for all the door speakers, what kind of LOC would be ideal (ive seen the very simple PAC to the more complex LC2,3,4,5) then finally upgrading the sub. (lastly) Im not looking for ear bleeding but more of a very clear sound for the classic rock steel string guitar enjoyment in me. Anything new you recommend would be great. Thanks again for your time.

Not much has changed. For a subwoofer in the crew cabs, we use the audiomobile subs. They work the best in a tight enclosure. The mosconi 6to8 is still the best processor to use as well as focal speakers. We did however switch to arc audio amps as our recommended amps because of the sound quality and power output.

so starting from the basics what are you using for your Line out Converters. I think that's the biggest sticking point for me as i see some that are very simple to large complex multi channel ones. Again any recommendations on those. Also i'd like to attempt this myself and i've looked to see if there are any good videos to step by step instructions on removing the HU and console. However most i've seen are people pointing a camera at one spot on the truck then explaining 20 steps while doing nothing. Know of any good ones?
