You are correct. Sync3 is all in house and MS is done.

I don't understand why more manufacturers don't use google maps as it is a great product (street view could add to the nav experience) but more importantly it is always up to date.

I have always thought the next evolution of the ipad wold be that it snaps into the center console of a car and wham you have your music, nav, phone (cell signal needed) ect. all in one device.

The 2015 Huyndai Sonata does. Their factory units have Android Auto. I believe GM has a deal to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in most of their cars next year. Many other manufactures have agreed to include one or both.

Not sure how this plays with Ford. I think their deal with Microsoft is over and the '12+ units were built in-house. I have no confirmation on that though.

ANY kind of Nav update. I am either 300ft away from where I should be, or the street I am looking for doesn't exist, or it decides to move me a road over on some complicated highway areas which makes it hell when my GPS starts ******** itself to try and get me back on course.

At the very least, put connectors behind the glove box so I can just connect them if I want them under the hood. Crazy how they went to all the trouble to include switches and wiring and made it so difficult to actually connect the wires.

Why stop at Google Maps and not just include the full Android Auto.

Tesla also has Google maps, and you can incorporate live search for food, gas, etc. along with live traffic data as long as the car has a 3g signal.

Sorry for the stupid question but what is IWE? Keep seeing that complaint and I can't come up with what that would stand for.

I think that FORD should have a small desk set up, like at the DMV, and prospective buyers should fill out a profile. If the results come back that you are likely to haul real heavy shit around, or install 20"+ wheels, or simply ask stupid questions all the time on FRF, then you can't buy the truck!!!

:ROFLJest::crazy::ROFLJest:

Although if the results show you are simply an A#@hole, then it's ok. I never would have made it past the test.....
