A magic eraser often works on smooth trim, but cannot get to the wax residue in textured trim.
To remove residue from textured trim, use
Tire & Rubber Cleaner with a stiff tooth brush or similar type of small brush. Work the brush into the texture of the plastic with very small, circular motions, rather than long back-and-forth strokes. With the back-and-forth brush strokes, the bristles on the brush tend to just ride along the peaks of the plastic texture, and not get into the valleys of the plastic texture where the residue is. Same concept on why a magic eraser does not get the residue out of the recesses of the textured trim.
If the residue is next to the paint, which it typically is, mask the clean paint off with blue painter's tape, so that the brush does not scratch it.
And save the peanut butter for your jelly sandwiches.
All that really does is mask the residue with the peanut oil.
