Vettes. Meh.

C6 is puke styling-wise IMO. Looks like something a 13 year old Batman fan would pen. The C5 was worse though. Too soft overall, and a completely disjointed exterior design. Neither the C5 or C6 has a coherent design that encompasses the entire car. GM hasn't been able to style anything they've made in 30 years though, so no surprise.

At least they have good door skins I guess.

Is there anything you like? Seems like all you do here is gripe about things.

One day I'll have a C7 ZR1 to keep my Raptor company. Gotta get the wife a nice car first tho, once the kiddos are old enough to take care of it.

Selective reading on your part? Did you not read the part about the '65 my old man had? Loved that car....

Pretty sure 2006 C6Z weighs about the same or is lighter than the 2004 C5Z. It does feel bigger due to the width, but to me, the car always felt amazingly light. One big difference I noticed was the gearing. After I got used to the C6Z, when I went back and drove (boltons) C5Zs, I really noticed how long the C6Z's legs are.

Not gonna fault you for modding the C5Z tho. I did the opposite. When I was buying (during the great recession), I summed what I was going to spend modding my C5Z the way I wanted and found that at the time, it was more cost effective to buy a C6Z. IMO, can't go wrong either way.

@EricM IMO, the C7s got the Michael Bay styling.
You’re right- actually the C5Z is still lighter but not by much 3116 lbs vs 3130 lbs- but regardless the C6Z felt like a much bigger car when driving. The C7Z is the one that’s a fatty- goes up to 3580 lbs depending on configuration.

Problem w/ C6 Vettes is theyre really C5.5’s tho. Love it or hate it, the C7 is a represents significant improvements over the whole car from one gen to the next, same way a C4 is much different in nearly every way than a C3 & a C5 feels like a much tighter modern car next to a C4 which just wreaks of the 80s (and it should)

The C6 didn’t change it up enough- esp the exterior/interior designs they feel like a 1/2 thought out upgrade to the C5, but the Z06 & esp ZR1 models kicked it up a notch.

Can’t wait for the C8 mid engine - love em or hate em, there’s no denying it’ll be a world beater when you see what they already do in front engine RWD form to Most anything else on a racetrack regardless of price. They’ll be going w/ a tt DOHC smaller displacement V8 maybe even a hybrid & AWD- it’ll be a monster performer for sure.
