This isn't the first I've heard of this. Every time I've seen it the vehicle has been white. Last one I saw was Subaru BRZ and it turned the hood yellow.

I've heard of this for some time now. Mostly described as after market paints really being affected but som manufacturers paints too. Ive also heard that sometimes when you peel it off paint it will literally strip the clear coat right off and have it stuck to the dip.
This was clear dip..

Hi CP RAPTOR,

Have you contacted your dealer regarding this issue? Please send me the current odometer reading; I will look into the available resources.

As others have said, I believe it has a lot to do with proper prep work. The paint should be clayed to remove all waxes, sealants, and contaminants from the paint. Then a wipe down with isopropyl alcohol. Then pre-dip spray applied. Then your dip should be applied. This should properly prep the paint for plastidip. On top, I would recommend a coat or two of clear plastidip to protect the dip from fading as well. Clear plastidip maintains a satin finish unless Glossifier is added.

I did a little research on plastidip prior to "dipping" my hood so I felt confident that a new vehicle with good paint would be okay. Read that it will cause this to older paint and/or paint with blemishes.

I plastidipped my hood in Oct/Nov of last year. Reading this thread worried me a little so I decided to pull it today.

As you can see, my paint survived. It might look a little different due to the lighting but you can see where the plastidip line is (have to clean it off).

Glad you guys were looking out!

Looks good. Also, they make a spray that you can apply to dip that is already on your vehicle that will re-liquify it so that you don't risk pulling your clear coat when removing it (as others mentioned).

Also, my last vehicle was a Nissan Titan and I can tell you that their paint definitely sucks.

I hate that stuff. I know a lot of guys love it but I just never have been a fan.

Glad everything looks clean. I don't want something to happen really just looking out for everyone.

I'm glad everyone is looking out for everyone! Trust me. It just got me thinking last night and had to check it today. Glad it came off clean myself. It was only suppose to be "temporary" in the first place lol.
