Hey Guys,

Just wanted to give you guys a bit of a Heads up. The Plasti-Dip is a very cool product for your rims and bumpers. We work closely with a high end detailer called "Mint your Car" and they gave us a warning that sometimes the product goes through your clear coat and leaves a fogging in the paint. It may not right away but over time it could. It has to do something with the mix they use. There is a hint of paint thinner that slowly eats though the clear coat. I am waiting for him to send me photos of his truck and I will post them as well. Not trying to be rude just giving a heads up that it could happen. I know that no one wants to repaint a 50k plus truck. Just want everyone to be careful.

Thank for the heads up. I have it on my stock wheels right now but nothing on the truck.
Still good to know.

I can tell you that Nissan paint sucks though. My wife has a 2012 Murano and it's the worst quality paint job I have seen since the 70's and 80's. We already had the hood of it re-painted because of quality issues. This was our first Nissan and most likely going to be our last one too.

Not saying this isn't possible, but I wonder if they didn't use a harsh chemical to clean the bumper with before spraying --among other things.

Though I did claybar, polish and wax the area around my rear emblem that got covered before peeling it off to get a clean edge just to be safe.
