I didn't read the whole post after the first few posts...sounded like a good old fashioned "Cop Bashing Thread".

I agree. These types of threads always appear to come off as "******** cop this, ******* cop that, bad attitude, all cops are jerks and monkeys can do that job" but when in reality it's just one encounter where there is a disagreement. Then you get the members who chime in that all cops are *****, then the supporting members of Law Enforcement chime in next. No win situation usually, some like us, most don't. Have yet to see a thread started praising a Law Enforcement Officer for his actions, seems like only the negative comments start up a thread. But it's like the media, negativity sells and makes great fodder.....good, selfless acts-forget about it.

We signed up for it and know what comes with the job...mostly crap.

That wasn't my intention when I started this thread. This was the first negative experience I've ever had with the police in my life so I guess it just caught me off guard. I apologize if it pissed anyone off that is in law enforcement. I understand you guys coming to his defense and can appreciate why you guys did. It's a brotherhood and without the support of everyone in my department when I was injured I'm not sure how things would have turned out. So again I apologize if it pissed anyone off. Now lets get back to laughing at the fact that I ran over my new exhaust yesterday.

I've went back and forth a few times on whether to post this or not but I figured I would just take my ribbing from you guys like a man. So I was on my way to work this morning on 422 (which is a highway for those of you not familiar) and as I was driving I heard this weird noise and felt a grinding from under my truck. Then all of a sudden it felt like I ran something over and as I look back in my mirror I see my awesome and loved Stainless Works exhaust (that I just installed about a month ago) flipping around on the side of the road. Of course it would be my luck that it happened as I was going through a construction site so there was no shoulder to pull over and retrieve it. So I get to my office and call the police and explained what happened To see if they could go and help me safely get it and they said they would see what they could do and call me back. After a few hours I decided to call them to see what happened and an officer gets on the phone and tells me that he went and saw it on the left shoulder but instead of getting it for me he decided to throw it in the middle between the 2 concrete dividers. Then he tells me he should give me a citation for having an unsafe vehicle and that if he sees me there trying to get it myself he's going to tow my truck and arrest me. Then he tells me to call the road construction company and see if they want to get it and give it to me. Like I wasn't having a bad enough day I had to deal with this ****. Funny thing is he doesn't know I donated and installed a granite top in his station in the weapons room and I know his cheif which I will be calling in the morning. So now now I have to order a new exhaust and then pay somebody to install it this time. So that's my story so go ahead guys and let the Fun begin. I would do the same thing if it happened to someone else. :3681700201_eef6d1e2

Wow.....sorry to hear that.

Well not going to be able to get the exhaust back. Unfortunately where it was thrown is too close to the bridge area of the construction and it not safe to get to. A $1000 exhaust isn't worth risking someone's life to get. I guess that means I'll just have to start shopping for a new exhaust set up. Any suggestions? I really liked the sound of the Stainless Works with the lightning style exit but I don't think I want to run over my exhaust again.

I would suggest Roush but you have that already lol

Lol. Ya I need something different. It's bad enough having two trucks that look exactly the same. Plus I'm not a big fan of it only coming out of one side in the rear. I liked the look of the lightning exit. I was thinking of trying out the Bassani lightning style exit next. Hopefully that one won't fall off.
