I used an extra can of No Touch foaming tire spray on my boards and they look killer! Slicker than snot on a door handle at first, but after a couple weeks it still looks like I just cleaned 'em and not nearly as slippery.
I sprayed it on as the last step in detailing the truck and let it set in the garage overnight. In the morning, before driving, I wiped off any excess that may have puddled and admired the handywork. Leaving it on overnight probably isn't necessary as the stuff works on tires within an hour, if left in the sun. But considering the flat surface, if left outside, any residue or excess should be dried within a couple hours.
But when I say slicker than snot, I'm not joking! While climbing in to take the truck out, my left foot slid off the step so fast it could've traveled back in time... which let gravity take over what was left of me. I then crashed down on the seat splitting the difference on my ass, with a foot on the floorboards and one dangling mid air! I think one of the seat controls popped out my nose! Consider this your Public Service Announcement...
