Vortec 6200 Z71 vs Raptor?

So I was at the bar Saturday, and when it closed my friend was chatting with some people out front so I moved my Raptor to a closer parking spot. And got out to wait on him to finish talking to people.

While it was sitting in the closest spot to the door, I was eavesdropping on people's reactions to my truck (I love hearing the complements.)

Two guys came out of the bar and the shorter one was drooling over my truck, his friend seemed annoyed by how much he liked the Raptor.

I was in earshot and heard the taller one saying things like, "Ford just copied Chevy's 6.2" and "That truck is just a wannabe of my truck." etc.

I calmy walked over to pretended to need something outta my Raptor.

The shorter guy told me that he liked my truck, and then the taller one told me that his truck would kill my Raptor.

I asked what he had, to which he started reciting the Silverado sales brouchure to me.

Then he made me go see his truck.

He had a brand new crew cab Chevy Silverado 1500 with a Vortec 6.2 and the Z71 off road package.

He even asked me if I wanted to race. I told him that since I have been drinking, I did not. I just wanted to get home. But if I was sober I would have taken him up on it.

After about 15 minutes of him telling me perks of his Chebby and me bragging about my dream truck, we parted ways.

So after that long story (sorry), who would have won?

2011 Silverado 6.2 Z71 Crew Cab VS 2010 Raptor 6.2?????????

If I would have raced I would have left it in tow/Hual mode and 2wd (is this the best way for a street race?)


What is your thoughts?????

(I know driving under any level of drinking is bad, and that street racing is also bad, please don't chastise me. Just want truck thoughts.)

Im not sure. There are a few Vortec 6.2's around here that I have been wanting to race but I haven't found myself at a line with them. I have a feeling that the add weight of our trucks would be its downfall.

Edit: should have added. Where are you racing. In a drag my above statement stands. Anywhere off-road and you win hands down.

Next time any butt dart says "Let's race!" tell em "ok, but I choose the track." Find a dirt road that's nice and twisty w some nasty sand and some jumps. That way, you'll crush his dreams and put him in his stupid place. I hate how everyones measure of a badass vehicle is to drag race. News flash r-****!! This truck wasn't made to drag race!! Stop askin u annoying dip ****. Every Chevy/Dodge owner has to justify their existence and cry about how how theirs is so much better. Face facts **** weeds, Chevy and Dodge have nothing that can hang w this truck outside of a drag strip. Go screw ur sister, lame ass. Sry, that was my soap box moment. Don't worry about it dude, engines are irrelevant when comparing to capabilities

I know that this is not a Lightning, but a stop light drag is easier to arrange.

And there really is not off-road type track (or course) around here for me to show the Raptor's prowless.

And my Raptor gets ALOT of attention from other trucks when I am just cruising around town.

I don't know man, this guy has several videos of the ol 6.0 spanking a Raptor 6.2.....




My ex had a 08 Sierra Denali with a 6.2 and she let me throw exhaust and an intake on there and I can tell you from a 15 punch that sum bitch would get it.........

1- hats off to being smart enough to not do it when you had a few even when a ****** was annoying you man i commend your poise an level headiness brother....
2- you should already feel you won because you dont have to run around trying to convince everyone your better then their truck i think someones a little insecure an, as vanilla gorilla so greatly posted with his awesome picture a hater is a going to be a hater even if you win he would probably have the excuse book ready for you!!!!
3- i think you'll be hard pressed to find a vehicle that off the factory floor could keep up with your beast off road...that being said i dont believe this is a drag street truck it weighs a lot!!! an as was said i feel it ultimately will lose due to the weight in the top end
4-i would tell him hey you have the off road package dont you? my trucks made for off road ,so why not race off road to see who has the better truck ......tell him drag racing 2 off road trucks on the street is like racing a mustang an camero on dirt it doesn't prove anything twords what the vehicle was engineered for....see how willing he is to take you up on that offer with that being said...
