volant oiled filter question

I have always used K&N filter but I just purchased a Volant CAI with their Pro 5 oiled filter. I have a ton of K&N cleaner and filter oil already on hand. Is there a difference between the two oils, other than the damn color?

Is there is a difference I am cool to pay the $18 for the cleaning kit,

I believe you can use the same oil, but you'll lose the blue color off your filter since the K&N fluid is red. I'm sure they have the same components/ingredients but change the color to make it brand-specific. I'm sure all the oils do the same thing, as do all the filters in your CAI. Same shit different toilet I suppose.
