Just saw the post and got my Doubles put on last night. Zero problems but did have the dealership put them on. I also put on the mud grapplers and I know that if you don't do the rotation every 5k then rotation and balance every 10k you will have problems with mud tires. When they balance them at 10k it was well needed so i hope that helps and sure sounds like you already got it figured out. Best damn looking wheel on the market imo.

I agree about them being the best looking wheel. They make my truck look a tok more agressive. I told them to rotate the tires when they installed the wheels but you know how that goes at some tire shops.

Yeah thats for sure! I've just had really good luck at the dealership and it doesn't cost me much when i get my oil changed. At least i know its done right and if its not they will take care of me to get it right.

Here is the problem.. Method's are LUG-Centric and our stock wheels are HUB-Centric. This is how the wheel is centered on the truck.

If a tire shop uses a single center tapered nut to balance your wheels, they are balancing off the center HUB.. when you bolt the wheel on, the wheel is centered on the truck off the lugs, not the hub!!

You need to use a shop that balances the wheels off of the lugs. Its a special tool that uses the 6x135 Ford pattern and balances off the lugs.

I learned the hard way.... Mine were off as well.

Having a similar vibration issue with my newish NVs (also lug centric). I've got new BFGs as well. My vibration is most noticeable around 45 mph. Heading back to Discount Tire and will report back.

Canuck, do I just ask the shop to balance from the lugs? Will they know what I'm talking about?

It still amazes me you guys continue to buy lugcentric wheels when hubcentric stuff is available.

http://aewheel.com/eagle_alloy_wheels.cfm?id=5868&cat=472

The EA 012s are made in the USA (Method is made in China), they are hubcentric, and they use stock lug nuts. They cost about the same as Method wheels. Maybe if you guys got off the Method train, and on the AE train, we'd get enough demand for some nice SVT billet centercaps for the EA 012s. At that point, there would be no reason whatsoever to ever buy those crappy Chinese-cast lug centric Methods. The fact you can get the SVT custom cap is the only benefit to buying a Method wheel IMO.

UPDATE: not out of balance.

I'm wondering if my shocks may be in need of rebuilding...
