Vehicle warranty vs. Mods, should I be concerned?

Having spent some time being an SA, I can tell you that the dealer doesn't have final say on whether or not a part is covered...even when stock. However, the dealer is interested in keeping a high standing with the manufacturer in terms of warranty claims because there are repercussions to submitting bad claims...so take that for what it is. For the most part dealers will try to be your advocate...but if it's a clear case of abuse and/or failure due to modifications then you're on your own. I can't tell you how many lifted trucks we had come in with driveshaft or transfer case failures that were immediately denied.

Agreed but - what do you think about being denied a software update TSB for a transmission being denied because of an intake?

I am getting weak kneed about the CAI. I might have to send it back and avoid warranty issues. The same goes for the 1.5” front spring spacers.

can I ask about the Cobb Accu(something) V3? I can remove the tune of course. Is that enough to minimize warranty risk? Thank you.

You can remove the tune, but almost all tune/tuners leave a trace on the trucks computer ECU that Ford can see. @FordTechOne can describe that in better technical detail. Of all the mods to avoid, I put a tune at the very top until my warranty is long gone just because I paid extra for an extended warranty.

I bought a Raptor because it was the one truck I wouldn't feel compelled to mod. Once the warranty is done, we'll see, but likely a new vehicle
