Valentine 1 Gen 2 any pne have one

has anyone up graded to the Gen two ? any thoughts? it seems like the silence and volume controls will actually be harder to use ? other thoughts or comments ?

Saw videos on it, and it looks pretty nice for performance (other than the controls you mentioned).

I believe V1 is shut down though, so nobody can get one right now until they open back up. Maybe they sent some out before shutting down.

ok I have had the V1 for decades. its easily paid for itself. I have four cars and was considering the Gen 2 so I am not always switching the detector around

Thanks for posting this up, I had no idea the had come out with a new unit. I sent my V1 in about 5 years ago for an upgrade because of all of the false hits caused by blind spot monitoring, and was contemplating doing it again due to certain vehicles adaptive cruise control setting it off.

Once they open up I’ll certainly be sending in my unit to upgrade to the gen 2. Hopefully they’ll be able to get the stealth remote out quickly, once they’re back to work.

ok I tried to check my upgrade. I wonder if they will no longer upgrade the gen 1 ? so they give you about a $100 credit to trade in for a Gen 2. for 100 bucks Id keep it

It appears that’s the case. A $110 credit towards the new one isn’t worth it. I’m sure I’d get more for it on ebay

There are lots of really good radar detectors, Red Line, Passport, etc. Valentine is also a great radar detector.

I have an older Beltronics STI Magnum which has almost as most distance as the Redline and has many user defined settings that will make it much quieter.
