I have a '10 (no luxury package) have 4 12v outlets (next to sync, passenger dash, center console inside, center console rear). No 110 outlets and only 1 USB port.

True I do have the other spare ports, I was more so wanting the cleaner solution and not have a radio shack wire aisle all over my truck during runs.

I was hoping for an easier solution, i.e. plug n play USB cable that could plug in behind the dash port. I guess I could wire a cig adapter back there, but hoped to avoid worries of having a cig adapter to usb adapter to cable to come loose back there. I've done enough damn wiring in this truck too, so lazy owner is setting in ;)

I think the real advantage is you can have your phone connected to sync and have full functionality and high rate charge!

But you can't because sync will tell your phone about its power support not the chargers support.

Correct, I was stating why it would be cool if we could do it.

Why can't ford just include the high amp charging stock?!

Something we never thought of....connecting a powered USB hub to a sync USB port. Then possibly it will work out, sync and 1 amp charge rate. Should be easy enough to test!

In the trucks with MFT, has anyone tried one of the media hubs from the late product 14' vehicles? At least in the Explorers ford changed the media hub by removing the video input, making the audio input a 1/8" jack and providing higher current charging on the two USB ports for tablets and the like.

Not sure if they changed the connector, but if the video input is not important, this might be any easy/clean way to up the charging ability.
