I second that, I want to know.Has anyone described what the baseline 802A system is composed of? ie what do we have to work with?
Does the head unit have rca outs for external amps? fron? rear? subs?
How many amps are in the truck?
==that info could help determine if I would change amps out and speakers out to get better sound and not lose all the interface with the truck thru the head unit.
If better amps and spkrs are added to the existing head unit, is it clean enough to do them justice?...
Guess Ill be watchin this thread until we get complete solutions that are documented working well!

I come from the world of RCA outs into high qual low noise amps and 1-2 Ohm speakers in car audio....Can High level input amps really sound good? and if you think the 802A Sony has decent sound, your not qualified to answer this question.
I'm so disappointed in the sound of this audio system, I get depressed everytime I hear the damp, cardboard 1K dominant "Fidelity" these POS pass as sound.
Guess I gotta wait it out till eveyone has it figured out.
I see the amp beside the Sub, does it run a low voltage input? Are there sep amps for the other speakers in the cab or is the head unit powering them?
