Maintenance is the key element. I would buy a 300k truck that was meticulously maintained over a 100k truck that had no work done to it and the owner didn't give two *****. Some people love their trucks, others it's just transportation.

I know, I’m the same way. Then again I come from the Subaru world, so I’m meticulous about maintenance.

Totally agree. And if you are patient you can find an excellent example of the OG Gen 1

Ooof she’s pretty. Genuinely curious, what does resale value on a Gen 1 with 296k miles look like? Did you have a hard time finding a buyer?
I sold my 2010 with 200k miles on it for $20k. It was off-road quite a bit but maintained like my life depended on it. Had some nice extras, winch, bedslide, lights. Interior was outstanding, had desert pinstripes but they were shined to a mirror gloss. Ford offered me $14k and planned on keeping it to re-sell themselves. They hold their value better than anything else I’ve owned.

I sold my 2011 gen1 about 3 years ago with 296k miles!

I finally decided I could no longer live without another Gen1...so just picked up a very clean, one owner, no accidents, never off road (until the day I picked it up!) gen1 with only 74k miles!

Truck is beautiful and my life is whole again!

Glad to be back and again a part of the family!

Let me know if you are local to me and want to get out in Arrowhead or Big Bear area! View attachment 162281

On top of the world again it looks like. Enjoy that beast!

It sold in 5days on Craigslist and I got $20k for it. It was meticulous, went with Arizona Raptor Runs from Prescott to Vegas the weekend before I sold it! TRR a couple times and many local trails.
