Not sure what I am doing yet, I just wanted a setup that is different. Everyone buys the 20" bar for in that spot... yawn! I will have a ton of options packed in that spot and it will look sick. I am a graphic designer so I have already done some photoshop mockups for myself.
Things would be much easier if I had the truck right now!
Still looking for a 5 AMP SQUARE STYLE FUSE??

somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you wire to the 30 amp upfitter and use a 5 amp inline fuse that will blow first if there is a spike or issue with the lights?

That's what I am doing with my switch #1 that I have running to my 20" rigid. I pulled the 30amp inline fuse and replaced it with a 10amp, I also put a 20amp box fuse in the #18 spot to replace the 30 that was there. I think I will do the same for the HID's ill be wiring to the #2 up fitter 30amp this week too.

I hope this is an easy and acceptable fix?

Yep that's perfectly acceptable.

The trouble comes when you go the other way; for example if the circut is rated for 10amps, but you replace that 10amp fuse with say a 30amp... unless you've gone thru the entire thing and made sure, you can't know if the wires/terminals are big enough to handle the additional draw. They would might probably definitely melt before you got anywhere near 30amp, and then you've got yourself a nice little electrical fire.

So in short its always ok (at these power levels) to go with a smaller fuse than what the circuit has been rated for but its almost never ok to go with a larger fuse (unless you really know what you're doing).
