Thanks for bringing this discussion back, I was just debating between the two, and with the price jump, it sounds like I am leaning towards the undercover now!! I picked up the brochure at my line-x shop the other day and the undercover does sound really nice, I was wondering if it was just their hype or real. Glad to hear it is the real deal!!

Regardless of what the old poster put about the bad customer service Undercover had, I think they are great. I'm from Missouri, so I may be a little biased (they're made in Missouri) but I ordered one for my dad's Platinum and I don't see what the problem is. The store I looked at said Bakflip has never been good with service so they dropped them completely.

Dad's isn't installed yet, but they had one on display and it was impressive how they innovated a lot of little things that made it better than the Bakflip F1. For example, you have to use a bungie chord to strap down the flaps on the F1, but the Flex has buckles at every section to snap on. Also, the Flex doesn't lean up against the cab of the truck, where as the F1 does and could cause paint damage over time.

My 2 cents.. I'll try to remember to post pictures of the install on his truck.

just a little install tip. when you have it all installed and are lining it up get it close then you can loosen the screws that hold the latches and move them in and out as needed. if i remember right the instructions forget to mention that. just remember that it is aluminum panels and it won't take much to strip the screw holes.

When I went to a local dealer to look at the covers, they had a small version of many different covers on display. I got to compare the Flex with the Bak side by side and still liked the Flex better. Most have already commented on the little things that are better with the Flex and I concur. No problems after 5 months and lots of positive comments on its looks and quality. Found it online $250 cheaper and free shipping. Easy install, the local dealer was getting about $150 for install by them.

I received it yesterday, I got it one week after I ordered it. What an easy install!! I put it on by myself in about 45 mins! The hardest part was actually lifting it out of the box and putting it on the rails. I haven't looked at any other covers really close so I don't have anything to compare it to but I love it. It is really solid and operation is really smooth. I got it all centered up per the instructions and then moved the latches like Captain Awesome recommended and it just gives a little better hold on the rails so that is nice. I will post some pictures soon.

Thanks for the recommendations!!

Anybody with an undercover flex have you looked at whether or not it is compatible with something like the bakbox? I'm leaning hard toward the undercover vs the bakflip, but the 1 sticking point for me is that I still would like to have a stowable (or easily removable) toolbox.
