I live in the northeast and in the winter they heavily treat the roads with salt and chemicals because ‘snow’. Wanted to see if anyone had opinions on undercoating and whether it helps prevent against rust.

I had my bed, wheel wells, and entire under-body line-x'd. I also live in the North East. I want to say the whole thing cost me $1200 or so? To be honest I don't remember. Regardless, worth it for the practicality (bed) , looks (wheel wells), and peace of mind (underside) for me personally

I live in NY. I use AMS oil MP metal protectant. Applied it to the frame and other parts under the truck last fall. I have zero rust. So far its lasted threw one winter and a full beach season.

Well isn't the entire body aluminum? Al won't rust - I have used Amsoil HDMP to spray on the steel parts - shit works really well.

I’ve used fluid film on my ram and have had good results with it. It’s a 2014 and I’ve had it for 2 winters out of the 5 years I’ve had it. Used fluid film both winters

Just picked up 4 cans and am planning on spraying her down. Question, do I need to clean it good first or do you just go for it? Thanks

Edit: can says get it clean first they apply, let cure 12 hours fully

Ordered a few cans of Amsoil MPHD and try it on my truck as soon as it’s back from the stealership.

Search on here for threads about Amsoil MPHD - you'll find a thread that was super popular buy a guy (Unfortunately he passed away) and I can't remember his name. He did an amazing job of scientifically testing all the products on the market. MPHD has been on my truck since it was about 2 weeks old and I'm about to apply again. My frame still beads water like it was waxed yesterday and is black as the day it came from the factory one year later only after one application. This stuff is basically invisible unlike lineX which is a rough texture and more than likely gets dirt and grime in the nooks and crannies and looks like shit after a while.

I bought a case from Freedom Motorsports and probably used 2 and a half cans out of 12. I gave one can away to a friend and still have tons left for the future.

Clean the frame like you mean it, let it dry and take your time masking off the shocks. It will turn them kinda yellow if you get overspray on anything that isn't black. Watch out for the front undertray. You don't want a yellow tint on that or on the lower control arms. That will look like crap.

I also sprayed my entire rear axle and the leaf springs and the driveshaft and my truck has none of that surface rust.
