I do think the ecoboost has great bang for the buck, especially in the lighter F-150 models, but I am not impressed with them with just a tune. I also don't think I would want to own an Ecoboost without a warranty. Take a look around the forums and facebook groups. You never know when you are going to need that warranty.

I think a Coyote with a Whipple is the ultimate bang for the buck in the F-150 these days. And that's why people are Raptor swapping them.

So an engine swap has a warranty?..lol

Ok, Stroker an Cams. How much does that cost?. Your average Raptor owner isnt doing that. Let's talk apples and apples.

Really? 8 sold in 12 days but thanks for the support sir. very gentlemanly.

We have 5 short blocks, (raptor versions) 3900 and up. What’s your point?

Dude here is comparing ford GT

And the source on that is what? Clearly it's been photocopied and uploaded. The only accurate dyno graphs are those from the manufacturer with the engine on a stand; there are too many other variables.

I see you two are going at it again so I'll just throw this in real quick before the next lock...

These graphs are straight from Ford. I posted them awhile back when the troll claimed the gen 2 raptor had no top end. Funny he never responded to the dyno showing him wrong.

He also claimed the gen 2 uses a different engine block than the Ford GT, also proven wrong on that one.

I don't think he even owns a Raptor and don't know why you keep engaging an obvious troll.

The engine was designed and first used in a Lincoln passenger car and later a crossover. Like most 60 degree V6s.

Wrong. It was never designed for a passenger car, nor has is ever been used in a passenger car. In fact, the Gen 2 3.5 has never been used in a single transverse application.

And like I said, I have no bias. The first car I ever bought entirely myself had a DOHC V6.

Your posts show otherwise. You put preference before facts. Everyone's opinion is more than welcome...but don't present it as fact.

I don't care for the 3.5's lack of low end torque, boost lag, and low power ceiling. And yes, I don't particularly care for the noise it makes. But I could get over all that if they would sell one that has better power potential without being torn apart.

As you mentioned in the first part of this statement...you "don't care" for it. That is fine. But you continue to promulgate your bias stating a "lack of low end torque, boost lag, and low power ceiling". None of that is factual. Ford's own dyno graphs show that even the Gen 1 3.5 produced higher low end torque at lower RPM than the 6.2, more mid-range power, and more top end power. You get off on comparing factory stock Gen 2 Raptors with modified Gen 1s....that is not a level playing field.

I'm not here to defend the 6.2. I responded when I saw people posting fake news about sound being the only reason why V8s are used... you know... like virtually every major manufacturer does in their larger vehicles.

You're taking it too personally. Various engine types are used for thousands of reasons dependent on application. In the Gen 2 Raptor, the Ecoboost 3.5 was able to provide higher horsepower, better low end and higher peak torque, better fuel economy, similar weight. Why are you so offended by that?

Not as many as you think and they should be doing that swap with motec if going they the effort. We can do the same thing for the same price but using motec. Hell yeah!

If you are referring to me I am the one who is NOT comparing the Ford GT engine to the Raptor engine. I think that's marketing nonsense.

Different crank, different rods, different pistons, oiling system, you mentioned heads and cams... totally different ball game but still playing the same sport (quite low power output in its class at a measly 660 hp).
My apologies than! I misunderstood you.
