Yeah, that one was old and rotten, otherwise that Bronco didn't stand a chance, lol.
I didn't even notice the Bronco, I was just showing a great way to pull a stump.Yeah, that one was old and rotten, otherwise that Bronco didn't stand a chance, lol.
Yes, the concept is 100% legit and educational. Sort of like the pulley system used by tow truck drivers these days.I didn't even notice the Bronco, I was just showing a great way to pull a stump.
My father showed me that 40+ years ago on his horse farm with a tiny tractor, but he used a wine barrel.
He said his father showed him that back in the old country of Germany with a horse and wine barrel.
Remember, you can only go “too far” once before it makes it to youtube infamy, so be careful.

If those roots are green, a reciprocating saw might be difficult, you might have to use the ole' chainsaw. Looking forward to pics and videosI've pulled a few bottle brush trees from the current front yard due to the freeze. Those we're pretty small by comparison on what I'm going to try now. I've got a new piece of land about 1.2 acres and I'll be putting up a big metal building (30' x 50') in addition to a house. There was an Elm tree that needed to come down where my metal building is going. I'd guesstimate that the trunk is about 30 inches. I've accomplished the felling part without killing or damaging anything! But now I need to remove the stump since I'll be pouring a concrete slab over it. I don't want to grind it or burn it since I think that will still leave a lot of trunk/roots that will eventually rot away and potentially create a void under the slab. So I'm going to try and pull it out.
I'm going to dig and cut roots as I go with a long blade in my reciprocating saw. I wasn't planning to just try and pull straight away without any digging. That wouldn't have worked. I'll try and take some measurements and photos while attempt this feat this morning. Y'all might get a good laugh this evening when I post the results of my endeavors............
