I wouldn't trust them. If it was me I'd tell them to keep a rack empty and that you will drive it until it is heated to operating temperature and then return to the dealership to be put on the rack and so that they can DEMONSTRATE to you that the transmission fluid level is proper. Why? Because there is no way to assure a proper trans fluid level when it's filled cold, and that is exactly what they're going to do. Don't take no for an answer. And while you're at it, you might inquire rather pointedly about the mystical three dipsticks and whether they have installed the proper one. (Hint: If it isn't on the bill, they didn't do it.)

"Transmission now ***** and operates as intended."

Uh-oh!

Looks like they gave you the correct dipstick. That's good! I'd check it myself if I were you, but prepare to burn your knuckles.

I tow a lot so I had my local Ford dealer perform a transmission fluid flush at 41k miles. They assured me that it was not a sealed tranny and Ford allows a tranny flush. Did tranny flush.

I drove the car for 25 miles and gears 8-9-10 slipped a little when engaging. Temp steadily climbed to 238. I limited it to 7th gear with paddles and drove it straight back to dealer. It cooled to 225 indicating overdrive gears were causing it to overheat. Pulled in at dealer looked underneath and it was spraying tranny fluid.

Dealer said they did a cursory check and it was overheating causing fluid to come out of the pressure valve on top of tranny. They need their tech to come in on Monday to do a full diagnosis.

Dealer is an ass and was very casual and unapologetic about the whole thing.

Should I call Ford corporate? Any ideas on what they could have effed up while doing a simple flush?
Dealers should only sell vehicles not service them! They don’t care.... the lack of give a shit is very similar to my dealing, I have a thread titled dealer fail. I wish you luck!

Thanks all. Here's an update: Got a hold of the dealership GM, explained the situation and he promised to investigate.

He called back a few hours later and said they indeed overfilled it. However, he had a rather fantastic explanation for why. He said "this tranny, depending on which car its mounted to, has 3 dip sticks and your truck had the wrong dipstick in it. So when we originally flushed it and checked the level, it was correct. However, it was overfilled. We have now corrected the problem and put the right dipstick on."

uhhh????
Lies to cover their ass.
