My 95 Silverado did, 125k actually. Shifted great until the flush, it has never shifted smoothly since.
Here is some education on the subject:Take it from an industry insider - dealerships promote transmission flushes to increase revenue. Follow the manufacturer’s schedule, NOT what your dealership suggests. They make a ton of money on unnecessary and not infrequently, damaging “flushes”
No it didn’t. What you experienced was you waited too long and the only thing holding it together was the clutch material that was suspended in the fluid. Change it before it gets so dirty that it’s wearing out your clutches and it would’ve lasted longer.
No, flushes are terrible, and you shouldn't do them. Drain and fills are fine, and what I had intended to do, but let the tech talk me in to it.
I got the truck at 100k, so it wasn't my negligence. But my dad's bronco went about the same mileage on the fluid, and the transmission made it to about 230k before my sisters terrible driving chipped a tooth. Considering my brother now has 215k on the Silverado and its transmission, it clearly is working fine. Most likely the slightly different viscosity doesn't play well with the solenoid, but regardless the clutch is fine.
You guys arguing the fluid can't go that long are the same saying 10k oil changes are too long, even when I've got two analyses telling me I can go 12k on blended synthetic.
