Just to follow up on the transmission level, all good now, level is perfect when trans is at hight temp and engine running. But !… the reason why I did this oil change was because of a weird whinning noise which I can hear mostly when loading the gear or when higher in rpm. It does whine more in manual than in D and also more when taking a sharp curve , it’s like the old manual gear boxes when going fast in reverse, but not that load. No noise in neutral or park, and unfortunately despite the oil change and the correct oil level the noise is still there! It’s not loud but it’s there ! Any idea on what it could be or if it’s just normal on that truck ?
Yep, sorry. Pinion bearing... I had the issues corrected under warranty a few years ago. Dealer said it was a known failure.I think he meant pinion not carrier and you are spot on about the carrier bearing.
