Just to follow up on the transmission level, all good now, level is perfect when trans is at hight temp and engine running. But !… the reason why I did this oil change was because of a weird whinning noise which I can hear mostly when loading the gear or when higher in rpm. It does whine more in manual than in D and also more when taking a sharp curve , it’s like the old manual gear boxes when going fast in reverse, but not that load. No noise in neutral or park, and unfortunately despite the oil change and the correct oil level the noise is still there! It’s not loud but it’s there ! Any idea on what it could be or if it’s just normal on that truck ?

Most likely the carrier bearing issue in the rear end. Known problem on some...

It will most likely continue to get louder. Not sure what the failure prognosis is...

I am not a specialist, far drom that !, but I try to learn and I have been looking for ´carrier bearing’ issues on 6r80 trans but our raptors do not have carrier bearing ! And that would be on the drive shat not the gear box

I think he meant pinion not carrier and you are spot on about the carrier bearing.
Yep, sorry. Pinion bearing... I had the issues corrected under warranty a few years ago. Dealer said it was a known failure.

Thanks Hap, it could well be that, it’s just strange as my truck has only 50k miles. I will try to find someone qualified to fix that but not easy here in France
