GEN 1 Tpms sensors in New wheels won't program

A year ago I bought a set of aftermarket wheels for my truck, bought new tpms sensors from a dealer, installed them on the truck, and was unable to get the truck to accept them. Had a dealership try to program them and they failed also. Just verified with the dealership today that they are the correct sensors for my 2013 raptor. Any advice? I'm going to be installing them again soon and would like to get them programmed so I don't have to look at the warning light. I only run these wheels in the summer. Run the stock wheels in the winter.

Can you provide a sensor part number? Also, what training tool are you and the dealer using?

Sensor 9L3Z-1A189-A. I don't have a tool to train them, I just tried the deflating method at home and I didn't see what the dealer used. Either way, the truck would go into training mode but wouldn't recognize the sensors. Tech said the sensors were there, but the truck wouldn't recognize or accept them. I thought maybe I bought the wrong sensors. Called the dealer I bought them from yesterday and he said I have the right sensors. The drive to the dealership was about 35 miles, so the sensors were awake .

I turned the TPMS system off. It's a waste of money IMO. I don't need the government mandated nanny to remind me to maintain air pressure in my tires like the masses apparently do.

As far as I know, Forscan is the only way to turn it off.

I'm curious, I have a friend that has a 2013 Raptor and he is having trouble as well.
I question comes up as to what mhz. the truck is using, is it 315 mhz. or 433 mhz.
I suggested using the vin# after signing in to your Ford Owners Website.
I haven't heard back yet as of today.

The parts guy I talked to was rambling about possible differences during assembly or something . The sensors I bought at 315 mhz. But he researched my vin and was pretty confident I bought the right sensors. I know when there's a 50/50 chance ,90% of the time I'm wrong ,lol. If I have to buy a reciever, will it need programming?

While looking up the whole TPMS for the 2013, I'm 60/40 that it's the 315 MHz. too.
But I've been wrong too, many times. LOL

Are you sure your doing the procedure right, I looked real quick for videos on YouTube, there are a lot for F150s
I see there is the 4way flasher or the brake pedal and key on and off.
There is a thread where someone did it and posted the procedure that worked for him.

I would start with only having 41-42 psi in each tire.
(40 psi. +/- 1 psi.) is the threshold when the low tire pressure goes off.
Make sure you drove a while with over 41 psi. in each tire, this will insure the low tire warning isn't enabled.
You probably won't have a low warning light since it's not trained yet.
If you fill up to 44+ psi. it's going to take too long to air down.
They are big ass tires, it's a lot of volume to air to down one psi.

Then it's front drivers side, front passenger side, rear passenger side and rear drivers side.
All have a time limit and the whole procedure has a time limit.
I believe the whole procedure is time limited to 2 minutes.

I'm not sure what psi I started out with. I know from past experiences that the low pressure light doesn't come on until 33-35 psi. I figured that the dealer would be able to take care of it when deflating the tires procedure didn't work for me. I just got the impression that it was the wrong frequency sensors when the dealer wasn't able to train them either. I did start with the lf,rf,rr,lr order. Even tried starting elsewhere in case the lf sensors was bad.I guess I could start at 41-42 psi and see if it works. I'll be putting new tires on my aftermarket wheels before I install them this year, that's why I'm digging into this now, in case I have to change the sensors.
