Towing with my 2018 Raptor

I pull a 25 ft Malibu LSV double axle to and from the dealer for annual service. Weight is right at 8,000. All stock and no weight distribution hitch. Doesn’t sag too much. About 35 miles. I just take it slow. Truck does fine.

Damn! Beautiful!!!! I cant wait to see my baby towing a boat!!! Just what I wanted to see. A boat that weighs about the same as the center console boat I want and knowing I should be ok as long as I’m careful. Thanks

The GCWR on the Raptor is right around 14,250 lbs, so keep the truck itself as light as possible.

And like everyone has already mentioned, a WDH is a MUST! The stock class III hitch is rated to 5,000 lbs and 500 on the tongue - WDH will increase the stock hitch to 11,000 and a 1,100 on the tongue. (Of course, the hitch rating doesnt necessarily mean your truck can pull it.)

You're right on the edge of it's max towing capacity at 8,000 lbs, so stay local, keep your speeds down, empty out your truck of all necessary gear (and people) and you should be fine.

With HD Deavers, bump stop, and a WD hitch, you can tow 8k lbs all day long—doesn’t matter short or long distance.

I have seen your truck in the Mandarin/St. Johns area regularly—I have a Race Red Gen 2 SCREW.

Yes! I live in Mandarin. I’m planning on driving to Camanche point in Vilano or Mayport depending on what family wants to do. I asked the boat dealer about the weight distribution hitch but they said their trailers dont need it. Lets see! Stay safe

OP, don't confuse the receiver rating with the truck rating.

The Raptor SCREW is rated at 8000/800 with a WD setup. You have 8000/800 to work with.. Good luck

As mentioned, and reverse of what you mention, don't think that just because the truck is rated to 8,000 lbs that your hitch can handle it.

Just remember a weight distribution hitch will not work with surge brakes. So you brakes will have to be electric. So washey washey washey if you will be dipping it in salt.
