Question though - can you guys take a peak at these pics and let me know if this ball angle looks alright?
Looks to me like the ball is kind of canted downwards more than might be ideal? If this is problematic, how to fix?
I loaded it with shy of 500lb tongue weight - car weighs roughly 2900-3000 lb and trailer is 1950.

Very nice set up you have.

Did anyone ever respond privately to you, or did you figure it out yourself, regarding the downward angle of the ball? I have a weigh safe and when I tow it also angles downward (but not quite as much as in your photo). I’ve always wondered whether I’m doing something wrong.....

I've been using a Weight Safe for a few years, on a few different vehicles. That's just how they look when they are hooked up. To many loose(ish) tolerances all connecting together. Nothing to worry about.

While not cheap, I use a genY . The torsion spring seems a bit gimmicky, until you drive over expansion joints and/or wildly uneven/bumpy roads/terrain.

Since I got it, the weight safe sits on a shelf in my garage.

The genY removes any of the "pushing" effect and really helps separate the truck's suspension from the trailer's suspension. overall it REALLY smooths out the ride and makes it feel way more controllable.

Ah, yes, the pushing effect is real with these types of multi-piece hitches, especially with lower tongue weight. Good point.

Thanks for the assistance everyone! I've been towing like this for about 20k miles now, hit many tracks over the west coast and it's been absolutely flawless. No WHD. Tow in 'tow mode', 2WD. I also recently discovered that if you use a tie down point on the car's chassis rather than the wheels, it dramatically smooths out the towing experience. By compressing the suspension of the vehicle that's being towed, it helps to ensure the weight transfer of the 'cargo' isn't working against the trailer.
