Just get a WD hitch & plan on upgrading the rear springs once you destroy them….which, at least w/ the gen2’s, seems to happen under “normal” use regardless by 50-70k miles, & if you’re not one to keep a truck 4-7+years & instead just swap em out every 2-3, who really gives a sh*t if it squats & flattens the suspension after a few years? You’d be trading it in anyhow. Here’s my 2020 gen 2 w/ 2 full size dobies + my 4 & 8 year old sons + my wife in cab + 400-450 lbs of crap in the bed + a twin PWC trailer w/ 1 VX & 1 FX Yamaha (“big” ones that probably weigh VERY close to 1k lbs each w/ fluids & crap in the storage bin) + a kayak that had crap in it that was putting more weight on the tongue than needed (fixed that on way back & showed less squat + just rearranged the load smarter in bed) & the truck felt like no big deal. Towed fine

700 miles each way, about 1500ish miles in total 12.4mpg w/ Gearhead performance tow tune loadedIMG_4739.jpeg

good to hear! that would make me nervous going that far on a single axle trailer! Glad to hear your raptor did a good job!

You can bag the rear and it helps. The g3 does better with towing and payload than g2. I am getting some Eibach rear springs to help with sag too
Do they make an air bag set up for the raptor with 14 inches of travel??

Last I knew the answer was NO. So in essence take a race horse and tie one leg behind its head.

Replace the springs or replace the truck lol All depends on what your real intended use will be, for me….I wouldn’t mind the sagging rear if it’s just 2-4x a year scenario OR if I’m just gonna be swapping to a new truck every 3 years or so

If not & you do intend on keeping long term the airbags & or those traction arms or whatever aren’t a bad option if you don’t use the suspension to its full potential off road, if you are going to keep it long term AND want to retain the suspensions full capability AND want to handle heavier payloads better- upgrading the front/rear springs + using a WD hitch seems to be the ticket, but it ain’t cheap- & if you’re doing that would also be the ideal time to either rebuild or replace the factory shocks, & you’ll need to do something for bump stops….my guess is in the $4500 range ballpark minimum for beefier springs, bumpstop, & just rebuilding the factory shocks (no fox factory adjustable etc)

It is worth doing if you’re going to put a lot of miles on & want all the capability & better towing/payload performance.

I tow a 4300 pound boat / trailer tandem axel combo with my truck. the Gen 3 tows way better and sags way less than my Gen 2, and I had upgraded to HD springs. I see about a 4 mpg drop when towing vs normal driving. so about 13-14 when pulling the boat.

Did you look into the trx? I feel like the raptor is slightly lacking in power when I’m towing my boat so I think I will go with a trx…more power but still the fun and maneuverability factor. Thoughts? I hate to leave ford but it seems like it’s the best of both worlds for my situation. Thoughts?

No need to leave. Be patient & get the Raptor R!
