My best guess totaled- and I’ve spent 30 years running body shops. Raptor frames at the front wheel are very vulnerable. Just because the frame is bent doesn’t mean it’s totaled, but a bend right behind the front wheel is very difficult to fix.

now, insurance company and body shop don’t always have your best interests at heart. I’ll throw out some of the worst insurance companies- Geico, Progressive, Allstate- all use garbage and aftermarket parts and really are poorly trained at looking at damage
If there is any damage to the firewall Apillar or rocker that extend into the cab, don’t let them fix it

Glad that you and everyone inside is on. Hw is the other driver? it must have been like hitting a brick wall for him.

I had mentioned in the past about once they total your truck that you have the option to buy it back from the insurance company, I have done it several times and parted out all of the parts that were worth selling and when it got down to bare bones I scrapped it. Just look at it this way, if you check out if the drivers side rim is bent or damaged, you still have the spare to make a set of 4 that you could sell, along with a long list of parts.

I have even sold the complete vehicle to people who needed a lot of parts to fix their damaged ride.

From what I understand every state handles a insurance buy back but I would suggest looking into it, you could make some extra cash to put towards a Gen 2 or 3 Raptor or buy a beater for the meantime until you find something you really like
Best of luck to you and please keep us posted

Other driver just had minor injuries, his airbags deployed so the usual cuts and lacerations that come with that but nothing serious at least on the surface. Luckily for both of us I suppose he glanced forward and away.

Buying it back isn’t a bad option issue is just getting something to drive in the meantime but I suppose what to get is a whole separate discussion in itself

Thank God you and the other driver are ok, how bad was the damages to his car?

What year and model is your truck with all the options? How many miles on it?

The subject of buying another ride is going to be an intense one, you will get a lot of opinions on what to do and hopefully a lot of input from those who have go through the same experience. When will the new Gen 3 be available? If your thinking about that as a choice just do as much research as you can to prep yourself for when they will ab available.

If you were truly happy with your truck I would bet you could find something similar or close to it, maybe equipped with options that you wish you had.
If you go onto TASCA`s website and look up some of the major parts that will give you an idea of what the cost may come to. You will be surprised at just how much parts do cost, the steel center section of the front bumper is $941 and the drivers side bumper end cap is $262 it is going to add up real quick

I guess it all boils down to what do you want to drive, another Raptor? Were you totally satisfied with the Gen that you owned? I do you want to wait until the Gen 3 comes out? I can personally attest to the issues buying a first new model, it was a Jeep JLUR Rubicon and it was in the dealers service department more than in my driveway but there were thousands of them out there without any issues at all.

His Toyota Avalon was pretty destroyed. Damage from the front bumper down to the back doors with the whole front being mangled.

My truck is a 2019 SCAB 801a which I loved. Had 29,*** miles on it and I got it January 2019. I hadn’t gotten around doing a ton to it because it was still under warranty but I thoroughly enjoyed driving it. I’m looking around I can’t seem to find any scabs still available or really a lot of gen 2s for a decent price and as well all know even when the gen 3s do come out they will be hard to come by and expensive. What made my truck great is that it was only the 801a (only being a relative term) without a ton of options so I got to have some creature comforts and the full raptor driving experience without as crazy of a price tag.

I love the raptors, but do to the timing one may not be in my future at least for a while, but we shall see. Good thing is there’s a lot of cool trucks out there.

Wait, you mean they valued it at higher than original MSRP, or that they gave you more than the pricing guides say it's worth?

yep they did and they did same for me- I GOT PAID $2k to drive a raptor 2 years 34500 miles & throw $2-3k in mods in it- I mean that literally. The ins check covered the initial purchase price + ttl + $672 extra I threw toward extended warranty + the $2000+ in mods & I had $2k or so left
