Hey y’all, yesterday I was in an accident. Some old man ran a red light running about 55/60 mph and hit the front end of my truck as I was turning left. No airbags deployed in my truck (his did), and luckily no major injuries on either end. Truck was moved about 20/25ft from where impact happened to where it finally came to rest. I’m currently waiting on the insurance company to let me know what they’re gonna do and if they’re gonna fix it or total it but figured I’d ask y’all for input just to get an idea while I’m stuck waiting without my truck. Other than the obvious damage in the pictures the back glass also busted

Sorry for your loss dude. Glad you're OK.
It probably depends on IF or how much damage there is to the frame, whether it's totaled or not.

I’ve pretty much come to the same conclusion that it depends on whether or not the frame is bent. The front core seemed bent from the little but I got to get under it but obviously wasn’t able to see about the frame or anything. Any ideas on what would cause the back glass to shatter from a frontal impact like that? Only piece left was the sliding window everything else was blown out

Glad to hear everyone is ok. Its strange how you got hit but nothing is pushed in and everything indicated the force came from underneath like it was jumped or something.. crazy!!

The cab flexed. It may or may not be permanently bent, depending on how much it flexed.

Glad you're OK. I'm guessing totaled. But we'll see.

Car that hit me was a Toyota Avalon, hit the front tire then kind of slid up under it. Only thing I can figure was that it was going fast enough it literally pushed my truck up and away rather than just going straight into it. Also helped that I was only going ~5mph in a direction perpendicular to where the car came from so I only had to worry about inertia keeping me in place and didn’t have a lot of energy myself to add to the equation

Nothing I see screams totaled but that’s where the shop needs to do it’s job. If there’s no frame damage I’d imagine it would be fixable.
