Has anyone tried or used the Undercover Ridgelander? It looks interesting...

I currently can't decide between it or a Canopy...I loved my canopy on my old Tundra but not sure how they will look on the new Raptor I got.

I am intrigued by the Undercover Ridgelander as well as the Pace Edwards Full Metal Jackrabbit with Explorer Rails for excursions & trips so I can add a rack, tools, tent, etc. Basically solid cover vs. retractable, I have heard great things about both (which is really not helping my decision). The only thing I don't like about the Ridgelander is that you have to lift it to open the gate (I think, please correct me if I am wrong) but it does seems to have a wider range of accessories especially for the internal rails.

Doesn't seem like too many are on the Bakflip Revolver X2 here. Looks to me that this is the best non-velcro alternative to the canister type (which don't work for me because I need the front box link ties)

I have the Revolver X2 and it looks incredible as well as being extremly functional when you need access to the bed. A plus is it doesn't require drain tubes and you have full boxlink functionality (although most covers do).

The only problem so far is that I have not been able to get it to seal at the tailgate and I get a ton of water leaking under the bedrug (the rubber seal doesn't reach the tailgate by 1/4 inch when installed according to the instructions) BAK Industries customer service has been trying to helping me figure out what's wrong (probably screwed something up during the install); you do have to send them pictures of everything and they take a couple of days to respond...

I received the Diamondback HD on 3-2 and it has been 30 degrees and Snow since then. I ordered directly from the manufacture and will be installing on 3-5 and will give an update then. I can see why it can support 1600 pounds. It seems to be well built and I believe I saw somewhere that it is coated with Linex bed coating. It was ordered in black and also has the front cross box. I put in another thread about retractable side steps from Ford. Has anyone tried these on the Raptor? The cross box will be a little hard to get to everything with the height of the Raptor.

Installed the cover today. Fit like a glove.

My son and I installed. You should have two people. The seals are like the ones around car doors and should not leak if adjusted to smash the rubber about half way down. This is the HD version in black and really is heavy duty and will support 1600 pounds. I also ordered the cross box for the front that is 13 inches deep. It fits so good that it can just be placed in the front or can be screwed in if you like. We put two stainless screws in each side just for insurance.
The seal to the tailgate was adjusted like the rest of the cover and will keep the tail gate from popping and lowering with the key fob. It could be left looser and it would probably lower, but I want water tight. I just let up the back cover and then hit the key fob.
I also bought a Rubbermaid Cargo Box Model H-1405 that fits between the bed extender (folded inside) and the tailgate to place Groceries and leaves room for a Coleman Model 5878/5879 Cooler or two.

Did you ever get the issue resolved? I'm curious to know if this is just an issue on your truck or everyone... Seriously considering this cover and while a little water is ok, a "ton" is not.

Most of the water drips down behind the bedrug on the tailgate portion and eventually dries off without issue, the part that worries me is that the edge of the bed gets a decent amount of water that pools under the bed rug and swishes around creating a musty smell and water spots on the paint. However its impossible to know if the water is coming from the gap between the cover and tailgate or just seeping in through the joints in the bed.

So far it hasn't been enough water to saturate the bedrug to the surface on the bed area. We had some luggage and the twin stroller in there over the weekend and it was dry despite driving around in the rain. The tailgate and the fabric that join the tailgate and bed section was soaked (annoying when you lean on it but not a big deal once it dries).

BAK told me to just move the cover towards the gate so I am waiting for a new bulkhead seal to come in (which I did have to purchase) to try and move the rails and cover 1/4 inch towards the tailgate.

When I installed it I had the seal slightly inwards of the edge of the bulkhead because it curves and now if I try to move the cover backwards like they said to, the rubber flap on the front lifts up when it contacts the seal and creates two large openings on the sides; probably my fault during initial install.

It does seem like an isolated incident of my tailgate being slightly off spec although it looks perfectly aligned with the truck from every angle; perhaps the "L" brackets on the rails are 1/4 inch too short but it is difficult to know, especially with BAK customer support being so slow and repeatedly asking for pictures every step of the way as well as the local installer refusing to help because it was purchased directly from BAK and not from them...

I'll post an update when I receive the parts and try to fix it.

I have a Pace Edwards Bedlocker in my Tundra. It was really expensive and I really don't like it. For one, you lose 11" of bed space, which is a premium in a 5.5' box. I had originally thought that this wouldn't be a problem, but it was. This is an issue for any retractable cover. They're convenient, but the box gets in the way.

The other issue is their cheap remote. You cannot put it in your pocket or it will start pushing buttons. It's ridiculous, cheap junk, just like my brand new, soon to be sold Tundra.

Did I mention that the Pace Edwards leaks like a sieve?

I've decided to go with the Bakflip MX4 on my Raptor. There isn't anything about it that doesn't work, from the fit to the finish to how easy it is to remove.

Gotta retract my vote for the Bakflip VP. Horrible build quality this time out of the box. The middle panel came with the dent/small puncture on the underside. No idea how it even passed QA. The left side rubber trim at the tailgate end had major glue overrun. The plastic buckle on the top left for strap down wouldn't even align with the pre-drilled holes to screw down. Then insult to injury they forgot to package the prop rods.

Bakflip customer service was mediocre. I just sent it back to the vendor which I bought it from and upgraded to the Lomax Tri-fold cover. WAY better quality than the Bakflip.
