I just bought a MX4 for my Raptor. It was super easy to install (less than a hour even taking my time). So far I am really happy with it. I am interested to see how well it does in the rain. Did yours do a good job keeping the majority of rainwater out?I don't have a cover on my truck currently, but I usually run BakFlip MX4 and have always been happy with the look and performance of it.
I am curious of the same thing. That’s the main reason I got it. Traveling to the jersey shore on weekends with my wife and kids with luggage and tools in the back. I had read that about their quality. It's one reason I bought locally rather than online so I could easily exchange if I had problems. I did encounter a couple small issues. Both involved finish drilling holes that Bak left full of shavings. I also didn't like that they put such tight rubber bands around the prop rods that it damaged the seals. Overall I am happy, but the quality could be better. But I am also very picky as my day job is being a quality managerI have an Mx4 on my F350 and while it’s a good cover, it seems like Bak quality control isn’t on the job, small things that are not worth trying to hassle with warranty. I think I’m leaning towards Lomax this time around.
Seems to have the same nice low profile that I like in the MX4, my 350 has the 8 foot bed and as I don’t really see myself hauling much in a Raptor the ability to prop up the last panel against the windshield isn’t useful, seems like full removal is a bit quicker than the very easy MX4 so if I do need full bed I’ll just do that, in which case the Lomax is, how do I say this, more ‘ergonomically efficient’ in removal with the way they have their tie downs set up. The often mentioned close the tailgate with the lid closed is not something I do anyway and while Lomax doesn’t make this claim, I bet it’s much the same. (And I promise to demonstrate it here if it all comes together, same with the auto tailgate dropping scenario) I don’t expect an issue but I know people like to be certain before they drop the coin if that feature is important to them.I had read that about their quality. What makes you lean towards the Lomax?
