I got bored last night and decided to take out the rear block to see how different it would drive and sit.

I'm going to be getting some Deavers in the near future so this was more just an exercise of getting out of the house so I wasn't stuck watching the wifes reality tv BS...

Anyway, on the street the things handles better. Because the shock sits way lower in the stroke, the compression is much stiffer and the truck feel planted in the rear.

I have no clue how this would handle in the dirt. But by the feel of it I will go out on a limb and say fire roads and minor stuff would be ok. Woop sections might be another story.

Anyway, at least it gave me something to do last night:

You just changer the pinion angle and that will cause you problems. You will wear out the pinion bearing if you drive it like this for to long. Get the deavers in ASAP

It won't stay like this for more than a few days and a couple miles. I really was just bored and needed something to do. But on this topic. I've heard both sides to this. Some say its such a minor change that it won't be a big deal. Others say what you just said.

I'll admit I have no clue. So, will the plus one deaver screw up the pinion angle as well seeing it lowers the truck?

Until I've seen a single failure I'm going to say that's what he did will not effect the bearing, its only 2 inch's, if its really that bad he's going to feel vibration right away.

Fordwop-Can you get a pic of how the pinion is angled at ride hight for us?

I lowered the rear of my Titan 2 inch's 8200 miles ago, towed about 2K in that time and have yet to have/see/fell a problem.
