So at what point do you hold off for the Raptor X with V-8...? They are saying 23’ at dealer, but nothing out yet. SC 5.0 or 5.2, price, etc. but if waiting until until 23’ anyway- I may hold off until more on the next version is out. Typical Ford to make very slight changes before a whole new platform is out. Gen. 3 is pretty much a gen 2. Gen 4 seems like the big change. I still love my current Raptor so not in as much hurry as some. But at some point a Raptor 37 with SC v8 may be worth the wait if you like your current truck is all I am saying.
I trade or sell vehicles a lot. I traded my 2021 F150 5.0 for a 2022 Ram 2500 Diesel in December (waited 5+ months on) and as of yesterday its gone and I purchased a 2022 F-150 STX off the lot for a work truck. In this market where there is no negotiation and 90% of the time an additional ADM. My personal outlook is that I am paying a premium price for what is a top tier truck then I expect a reasonable delivery time frame and if it doesn't happen I won't get mad about it, disappointed sure but not anxious about it. I've been pissed at Ford and said I would never buy another one but Ford Trucks are what tick all my boxes frustrations aside. I don't deserve preferential treatment over others who have ordered before me or had 2021 orders rolled over.
I've always wanted a Raptor but the timing was never right. I wanted to buy a Gen 1 but I started a new business and got married. I wanted to buy a Gen 2 but I didn't have time to enjoy it due to a newborn and having too many cars/motorcycles. I hope the Gen 3 is the truck that will capture my interest and I will be satisfied with it. When the Raptor R comes out my local dealer will give me a call for what will probably be their only allocation and if I like it then I will buy it (no ADM) because it's something different and probably the last high HP gas truck and I do prefer a V8. I like the 7.3 Godzilla engine too if they decide to put a variant of that in there as well. None of us need a 700hp truck but its one of those things I would at least like to try out. I've already told them I want the Bronco Raptor as well, that may be a 2 year wait with the whole Bronco ordering fiasco.
In my ripe old age of 37 the whole "I just wanna go fast" is not really a priority any more. Child #2 (final edition) will be arriving in August so I want something I can enjoy and take my family along as well. I hope that didn't come off as being pretentious because I am not intending it to be.
