I am trying to decide between the two below, not that money is an issue but why spend more if not needed. They look similar and the first one is half the cost of the other one. Has anyone here used the gatorcover gator recoil?

I had the gator cover on my previous truck and it is the same exact cover as a retrax. The box even says retrax as their parent company. With that said the cover leaked really badly and so did the retrax that my friend purchased that was identical. I tried numerous times to seal the cover with the corners having puddles of water after a heavy rain. Also the second link is to the retrax Metal cover while the gator cover is poly. Here is the comparable model to the retrax.

I just installed a Pace Edwards Ultragroove Metal retractable cover on mine last week and after two heavy days of rain I only found minimal water in the front corner due to the drain tube not sealing all the way. A little silicone and it was good to go. This cover has drain tubes in each corner and has no lock on the top for water intrusion. Very happy with it so far plus the groove allows for extra storage on top down the road if needed.

Good deal on genuine Ford tonneau cover

I ordered & installed the Ford roll up cover & saved a couple hundred by ordering from Apple Ford & Lincoln. Fits great. I love it.

Trying to decide between the TruXedo Pro X15 and the Bakflip Revolver X4... vehicle will get very limited use off-road due to personal/family-oriented constraints, but it will get some use as intended... concerned about the noise/rattle possibilities with the Revolver X4 on rough on/off-roads.

Security is not a major priority since bed will be empty most times. Any knowledge in the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I used to off-road with my Bak F1 (hard folding cover) and never had any issues with noise or rattling. The only issue was that the entire cover would slide a bit forward towards the cab and would need to be adjusted.

The X4 is a rolling hard cover so with the smaller slats, it should be even less susceptible to noise. Out of your two options, I would recommend the Revolver X4. It's a brand new cover and not quite available yet, but I'd be happy to offer you quote.

If you think you'd still like to go with the Truxedo cover with it's soft top with an even lower potential for noise, we can help with that as well.

Im looking for a new one too. I have the old rollx and was pretty good , the new one seems improved? The mx4 looks real good.

We actually put an MX4 on the truck this time around on our 2018 Raptor.

The step up in build quality from the Bak F1 in 2013 to the Bak MX4 in 2017 is pretty substantial. Gone are the metal hook points that were prone to rust. They've been replaced by plastic clips (think heavy duty backpack style). The end of the cover where the tailgate shuts is made of composite material and doesn't have the rubber flap that allowed easy access. Plus, since the cover has a hard finish where the tailgate closes. You can open and close the tailgate without having to touch the bed cover. We're very happy with it.

Let me know if we can help get you setup!

Best price on a pace Edwards or roll trax shipped to 87111. Not power is fine.

Thx

I ended up going with the Bakflip Revolver X4... was in a rush to beat any possible snow fall. Install went without a hitch. I can not find my heat gun, so side rubber seals need to "settle-in" over time and in warmer weather... I really like the look of the matte black finish!
