If you are frequently towing 7k lbs, I don’t recommend a OEM Load Range C. I’d prefer a Load Range E for towing.

Based on your self-described use parameters/priorities—if you like the BFG KO2–I recommend the Load Range E tire due to the construction/engineering more suitable for towing.

Even unladen/not towing, Load Range E tires have come a long way in terms of ride quality—and not your grandpas 10 ply tires. At 36F/34R, mine ride comfortably and are wearing ideally.

If MPGs/fuel economy is a concern—please be sure to factor in rolling resistance vs. strictly weight—which gets overlooked by some.

The Wildpeak AT3W aligns with my objective priorities, but there are a lot of good AT tires out there—as everyone has different priorities.

I wouldn’t go with an MT unless you regularly drive off-road in muddy conditions and/or just like the “cool MT looks and noise”.

Good luck in your search!

Just replaced my OEM KO2s on my '19 Raptor with another set of KO2s.
Had 45k on the originals and had gotten my hands on some '22 Raptor Wheels that look better than the '19 Wheels did on my truck.
Really didn't have any issues with wet traction even at 45k they still had 8/32 tread left.
Before going back with the KO2s, the Manager at the local Discount Tire encouraged me to try the Nitto Recon Grapplers.
They are very quiet, handle well, stiffer sidewall & 10 ply tread.
Ride was definitely more frim and bouncy even when aired down to 36 psi front and 32 psi rear.
They are definitely not bad tires, but do not seem to be as sure footed in wet conditions and definitely don't ride as well as the KO2s.
Ran them about 500 miles and just preferred the KO2's so went back with them.
Kudos to Discount Tire for standing behind their promise and exchanging the Nittos for the KO2s.

I am going through this same conundrum and have read a bunch of threads without coming to a conclusion. I spent most my time as a daily with trips on the beach, camping, and trails (or combos of all three). I live in VA so snow/ice is a concern but not as bad as our folks up north. I am stuck between a few options it seems. ALl are prices about the same so that's the least concern. Biggest consideration is good on road and off road use coupled with road noise as I do all my long haul travel in the truck. Currently considering the following an honestly not sure where to go:

Toyo Open Country AT3
KO2 replacements
MT Baja Boss AT
Cooper STMAX PRO
Nitto Terra Grapplers

I also considered falken wildpeaks but - they are by far the heaviest of the bunch, weight isn't a major factor in choice for me but still a small factor if it can be mitigated.

Not here to hijack your thread! Wanted to throw out what I was considering for food for thought and subscribed.
FYI, had a set of terra grapplers on my FX4. They are 10 ply and very stiff. Not a comfortable ride. Loved the look and traction was great except for icy roads. Also had ridge grapplers, a tad better than terra imho. Good mileage from both.

Interesting topic. on 2012 Gen 1 SCAB now at 200,420 mi have replaced the K02s at 65 - 70k. Mixed on/off road but lots of highway use in CO, UT, OK, TX, AZ, NM. 2 wheel drive and light-assed truck requires more care in low traction conditions anyway (towing 9000lbs at 70mph in rain?). Am thinking the real problem here might not be the tires.

FYI--it was 6500 lbs not 9000, drove into a light rain from dry conditions when it happened. I'm 63 yrs old and have been driving pickups and towing my whole life and never had this happen. Suspect I have a ton more driving and towing experience than you. Real problem is the tires. Thank you for your (misguided) opinion.

Much quieter, especially as they wear. They don't throw every single pebble on the road either. K02 were the worst at throwing pebbles at everything and road noise after 15K miles got progressively worse and worse.
No kidding! I’m at 23k miles and have really noticed the road noise from my original K02’s almost overnight. Even though there’s plenty of tread left, I’m ready to replace them.
