If i was willing to spend the coin, and the unsprung weight was most important to me, I'd honestly just call up forgeline and have them make me a set. You could even go carbon barrel on them. The heaviest you'd finish at for a 17 or 18 would probably be 22 lbs. With the carbon barrels, you can get into the low-mid teens. The race wheels they build normally are 10-14" wide, so an 8.5" wide wheel should be considerably lighter than usual.

I have a set of forgelines on my gt350R . they are 19 x 10.5 and 19x11.5, 22 and 23 lbs respectively. (fronts are heavier due to offset and mounting surface) ( sans tires).

You're going to spend a minimum of 8 grand on a set of their wheels, but if you want the best, buy the best.

As for the lightest 35" tire, be careful of what you wish for. a truck tire needs to be a lot tougher than a road tire and you have very few options when trying to create a tough sidewall beyond more material.

almost every mud oriented tire will be outside of what you're looking for.

I just recently went with the 601s and the 35” Ridge Grapplers. After the 9.1 lb gain on the tires and the 8.5 lb loss on the wheels I ended up .6 lbs heavier per corner. I definitely can feel the difference in the truck. She feels slower off the line and my mpg has gone down almost 2 when I am driving it hard. On the plus side the Nittos handle much better in the rain.

WOW[emoji15] that’s amazing you can feel .6 lbs and you lost 2 mpg from that little weight......

Why the F does everybody always feel the need to add stupid comments and opinions? If you don't have anything to contribute to the question I asked just MOVE ALONG.

Probably just trying to hit the post count, like me, so we can post to the classified section. lol

You have to remember the weight gain was in the outside of the tire. The weight loss in the middle did nothing to affect acceleration. All I did was essentially add 9 more pounds of unsprung rotational mass. Which of course takes more power to accelerate. Unfortunately I do not like to gradually accelerate my trucks mass, hence the decreased mpgs...

I upgraded my tires from my BFG KO2's to Nitto Ridge Grapplers a few months ago and haven't noticed a decrease in power or mpg's.
I will admit the acceleration issue may be in my head but my mpgs have definitely decreased. (I’m sure the 2.25” setting on the RPG to get level is not helping)

Yeah and I do have the Whipple Kit so that could be why I haven't really noticed anything. But I was expecting to see a decrease in gas mileage but it hasn't change which surprised me
