So..

I'm looking in to some new rubber before winter. My question is toyo mt, at2 extreme, at2 or bfg's ? All in the factory or 35x12.5 size.

My dilemma is this, road noise, wet and snow performance. I often drive long distances like to Florida and back, I'm on a highway every day to and from work. I'm a snowmobiles and atv so I get lots of snow driving and the bfg is what I would call noisy.

I understand the mt will be louder but how much? Tolerable? And what are your experiences in the snow with these tires (all).

Other driving really is dirt roads, barely what I would call mud other than wet dirt. Nothing any truck with 4wd couldn't handle with ease. Looking for the best all around tire so when I leave here in winter and drive to a summer state I'm comfortable at both ends and not chewing tires up like crazy, something I can leave on year round.

Looks is important but performance and noise out weigh that. I have no experience with toyo but have heard great things. I love the look and traction of the bf but god for it I could keep them from scalloping and getting noisy on me!

I'm coming from several duramax's over the years with Michelin ltx m/s and bfg for winter only, last off was a ram 1500 with the factory garbage tire though they were quiet with a highway tire. I know it's a raptor and needs at least an all terrain. No need to comment lol.

Thanks for the $change$

Had the stock bfg, general's, and now the duratrac.
The duratrac are winning in every category so far...

If you are not going where you need extreme sidewall protection like TRR or dirt roads the Duratrac is a good lightweight tire. I would have tried them but where I have to go they would not last very long because of sidewall damage.

Sidewalls are my nemesis and have torn up many tires---one reason the BFG is not considered AT or KM’s.

I have had the Duratracs in 33x11.5 load range E on my Xterra for about 35k and they are an excellent all around tire. I have especially found them great in the snow. Everyday driving is sufficient as well. They do get louder as they wear down but it is very tolerable. I don't even notice the slight hum anymore. I have about 40-50% tread left on them as well and the wear has been perfect, and the side wall knobs have held up too.

As Boss mentioned though, the sidewalls are not very strong. I blew out a sidewall going down a fire road at 20, there was a hidden stomp behind overhanging brush and the tire clipped it and it blew out instantly.
