Tire expert needed ridge grapplers

When I priced my Falken's the 35's were a couple hundred bucks more than the 315's.

Same size but the 35"s weighed more, and cost more.

On the side wall they are marked 315/70-17 with the sizes printed closer to the rim as OAD 35 and OAW 12.5. .

I decided it was probably some hocus pocus bs from CA and the EU to convince people that consuming tires could cause cancer. The price difference I never did figure out.

I’m looking at ridge grapplers and I see
315/70/17 and then I see 35x12.5r17

are these tires the same size ? I’m looking at the method 313 0 offset and putting these Tires on. Truck is completely stock

Ridge Grapplers are meh. I replaced mine with Yokohama Geolander G003s - superior in every aspect, and almost as quiet.

Also take into account the load rating of the tires. High load rating has more plys in the sidewall and seem stiffer in comparison. It can usually be offset by adjusting the tire pressure a little lower. For reference the factory tires have a C load rating. Just something else to consider when switching tires.
