cam is the same, tensioners are the same, sprockets are the same.

Solenoid is a new-ish part number, consistent with October 2019 repairs.

You had or were updated to Sync V3.4?

Not sure what version of sync 3 I have, but I asked them to check for an system updates. The paperwork states that they performed a power reset and retest. Everything appears to be the same to me.

8250 miles!?!?! jeeeez and I thought I had it bad with my 2 EcoBoosts failing at 17k miles and 55k miles lol.

glad you got it back though! hopefully it doesn't fail again.

Do you still have your gen 2? I was surprised I had issues with only 8300 miles. Lame.

Do you know if a TSB has been released for the cam phasers? Curious if the 2020s have a chance of phaser issues. There was a good amount of gen 2s at the dealer waiting to be serviced, not sure for what though. A little surprised to see so many.

nope.. once it failed the first time I picked it up, seen a 13 tuxedo black Gen 1 on the lot.. told the GM he can have my 17 Gen 2 and I took my Gen 1 home lol. then 2 months later my 13 f150 EcoBoost started to fail again.. which would have been repair #4, so I gave gave it to the wife and she traded it on a brand new Jeep SRT.

I do miss the EcoBoost platform.. they're so much fun. I've owned multiple Subaru STi's and love forced induction... but every repair on the EcoBoost was near 5k Canadian dollars and that isn't a sustainable to fix every few thousnad miles outside of warranty lol.

How's your Gen 1 holding up? Thinking of getting rid of this truck and getting one.

Based on @FordTechOne said in another thread, it sounds like any truck built after mid-April of 2019 is supposed to have "updated" parts that, in theory, fix this problem.
