There is only one MAP sensor. That's the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor and is right in the manifold. It can be removed with out even taking the engine cover off.

Two of the other sensors are IAT (intake Air Temperature) sensors.

There is also a boost sensor in the intal but I don't remeber what the name of that sensor is.

They just pulled my MAP sensor out to replace it and it was covered in oil. Oil isn't what caused this problem since the issue has been there since the truck is new.

As soon as I can get free I'll go run the truck and see if the new sensor fixed the problem.

Mine had a thin coat or light oil. Nothing bad like Ive seen in videos. Cleaned it anyway since it was out, sensor safe spray.

I have not seen any pictures or videos of oil covered ones.

My sensor was coated with oil but not like it was dripping off. Just completely covered with oil. The sensor portion that looks like a tear drop in the middle didn't have any significant amount on it.

The MAP sensor did not fix my issue either.

We'll wait to see what Ford says the next step is.

I have noticed with mine that when its cold, the surging in 4-5-6 gears is gone. Once its warmed up is when it starts. Probably gonna take mine in mainly to get the recall on the seatbelt done but to also have the surging documented.

Sure got quiet in here after we both changed plugs and it didnt do the miracle cure.

Yeah I hear ya.

I honestly wish it would have. i'd have been happy to report thats all it was.

Still waiting to hear Fords next move.

Interesting thing is I have one of my customers 17' Raptors in for a possible steering issue. I drove the truck for about 25 minutes on Saturday hoping to duplicate the issue so i could give our tech some heads up and hopefully help him short cut the diagnosis. As soon as i started driving the truck I noticed it did the exact same thing. Monday after our lead tech (same tech working on my truck) drove the truck he came right to me and said that truck does the same thing my truk does. Customer had not mentioned the issue. However on Monday talking with the customer trying to get more description about his steering issue he mentions about a "hesitation" his truck has. I told him I was familiar with it and that I noticed it on his truck right away. I told him we were already trying to diagnose it with my truck so I'd keep him posted. He also said his truck has done it since new. He has about 8,500 miles on his truck. He mentioned to me that he thought he found the fix on line and wanted my opinion on the "weep hole" fix.

and pray tell, what did your lead tech have to say about this, @03Darin?
