I haven't checked my truck for the symptoms in any other mode than normal so I don't know if it is better or worse.

I was going to just pull plugs and change them after reading all of the threads here. But instead I decided to have the shop data log it first to see if it was actually missing, which it wasn't. So it's not a spark plug issue.

Yes, plugs should all be close to the same color

Yea I would have them inspect the plugs while they have it. I'm curious to see if they look like mine.

I don't want to do anything with the plugs until Ford makes some decisions.

I work for the dealership. I've been in sales here for over 31 years.

I have the exact same problem. I think its a torque request issue in the ECM. I bet the tune has problems with maf blending or it needs a signal conditioner. No way to tell unless someone posts data logs. I currently don't have the ability and my truck is all stock. Hopefully ford sends an update soon.

The PCM and TCM updates we did on my truck improved the issue but didn't eliminate it. We haven't had time to go back out yet and do some more recording. Hopefully early next week.

Did you change the plugs?

My truck did this same thing, and when I put the new plugs it, it fixed the issue. With the Whipple tune there is zero stutter/hesitation at all. It just rips

I have not. I didn't want to change anything before I had it looked at for warranty. I can't believe it would be plugs since there were no misfires recorded.

After us data logging and discovering that the PCM is commanding the throttle body to make abrupt adjustments and with the fact that the PCM and TCM update also made a noticeable improvement with the issue, I really doubt it's plugs.

After we're done with it here at the dealership either fixing it or not being able to fix it. I'll pull the plugs and see which ones are in the truck, what the gap is and how they look. Then I'll also put new ones in since I'll probably be around 22,000 miles.

I had a big block that was exhibiting a very slight miss condition and thinking I knew better I completely skipped the plugs and wires. I troubleshot to my end of knowledge and was asking around with some other like minded folks. One suggested I forgot the simplest possibility. I confess, part of my reluctance was trepidation. This 460 was shoehorned into a 69 Cougar. a few hours and some profanity later, I had a much better running engine. The plugs looked great and they weren’t that terribly old. YMMV of course.

Run this past your mechanic. it’s not out of the realm of possibility you got a bad plug, or they’re gapped wrong. just because it doesn’t trip a misfire code, doesn’t mean you don’t have a weak spark condition...
