Anyone have a larger than stock throttle body? I am interested in the dimensions of the front and back openings.

I am getting ready to rebuild the 6.2 in my truck. I am planning on long tube headers, CAI, cams and possibly a new throttle body.

I measured the stock throttle body and the front opening is about 83mm, the back opening is 80mm and the opening on the intake manifold is about 85mm. I assume going over a 85mm would be a waste. Does anyone have the dimensions of the front and back openings of a 85mm throttle body, like a BBK?

Do your research here on those BBK TB.
Don't waste your money on the BBK TB, the stock TB is more than enough.
Plus, no one has ever got them to run right.
I think there are two used ones for sale on the forum.

If you are really going to do the Livernois cams,
then you will need to use Livernois's Tune to make them run correctly as well.
And you can ask them about the BBK or the other brand (I forget the name).

Good luck on your build.

I have the ability to tune it so cams and a different TB are not a problem. Im a little surprised to hear that people are having problems with a BBK TB. I will do a little more looking around to find these threads.

Anyone have experience with these guys? Soler Performance LLC

Livernois has a proprietary Tune for the cams it cannot be duplicated.
Many Tuning shops have tried, sorry for being so negative.
Just do the research before wasting your money.
Ford encrypted the back half of the Tune which is not editable.
HP Tuners software cannot properly Tune the Gen 1 calibration, in fact it corrupts the back half and will disable key safety features to keep the engine safe.
Unfortunately, all the nannies remain.

With the mods you want to do you are more than halfway to doing a Whipple and gain 200+ HP.
Instead of just 35-45 HP gains with the mods you are thinking about.
Just upgrade the oil pump gears!!!

I am not using HP tuners. I haven't tried to do any tuning yet but I will let you know if I run into any problems.

My plan is to rebuild the engine. When I put it back in im going to install long tube headers no matter what. Livernois cams are an option but I am leaning towards a re-grind of a stock cam. Im really more interested in durability and a little more power. My situation is better off with a NA engine.
