Ouch... ignorant??? Easy guys! I guess my sarcastic and comedic undertone wasn’t obvious enough. I though for sure the “2 cents is all this post is worth” would be enough.
Now, to address your ignorance/anger... smile and don't be so easily offended, it’s a truck.
I know exactly what the “shutters” are used for, and it’s pretty much hogwash. Especially because I live in SOCAL where the temps don’t change. I also know that I didn’t modify my truck because there were “issues”. I modified my truck because it’s fun. 2017 with 40,000 miles and 20,000 of that in the dirt.
Because I’m not an angry person, and I don’t call people ignorant without ever meeting them, I’m assuming you use your Raptor for what is supposed to be used for as well.... or maybe not.
I live in Costa Mesa CA, and go from here, all throughout the PNW to Baja and back, monthly! There is absolutely nothing wrong with these trucks from the lot, they are bada** in every sense of the word. I have 100s of hours of seat time in both Gen 1 and Gen 2 Raps. They have ranged from stock, to Ken Block status, and beyond.
So, as I digress, I don’t give a s**t what Ford “engineers” have to say about purpose or design. Why??? Well, because I know some pretty badass engineers myself, and they are really good at taking the already amazing Ford products, and making them way better. Give it a try, you’ll enjoy it.
