i wont go over t taps and such as they are a last resort type of connection. however i have to be honest, i have a couple t taps in my truck and im too lazy to fix it.

the biggest thing to do to prevent the connection from going bad is to secure the connection so it does not vibrate, shake, etc.

even with these connection done right, if it is not secured, it will fail. every connection posted, will fail on either side of the connection. not where its connected, but where the wire meets the connection. what happens to metal when you bend it back and forth multiple times? same situation, just will take longer, so no matter what connection type you use, secure it and you wont have any issues

There is also the Lineman's Splice Might be a bit overkill for our trucks but if you want to meet the NASA Spec for a wire splice this is it.

Here’s the crimping tool for solid Deutsch connectors. Deutsch connectors are excellent - high quality, easy to assemble and fit together perfectly. Ya, they’re more money but worth it.



I know many of you like weather pack connectors but they’re crap IMO. They’re big, gotta fiddle with them to align the contacts and hard to snap together. I actually hate them now since all of the BD installs I’ve done.

I thought about clipping all the weather packs off the BD lights but just in case I sell them.

i have had mine for 20 years. never really found a need for getting a new set. those you have there are the ones i was talking about. specific crimpers, crimp once and you are done
