I received a text message from my gf stateside (I’m in Iraq) that my cover has been tampered with. Every morning the cover has been opened a little more. My best guess is that whatever scum bag is trying to steal it is trying to figure out how to take it off. I’ve asked if there’s any markings on the truck around the area of tools being used and she has said there’s minor markings. I’m also considering that it might not be a thief and it might just be loose. I can’t check it myself as I’m not there and she’s not mechanically inclined. Anyone have any issues with these or any solutions on how to keep the top tied down? I won’t be home until February so I can’t put any holes in anyone so I’m looking for temporary solutions.

If he's from the Yuma area, it's a pretty strong guess that he's in the Corps....or possibly a Navy Corpsman...

I was in the Wing my first tour. Wanted to see if he was too.

Yep I was at El Toro for 3 years (85-88). That base is gone now, most of the units moved down to Yuma.

I was in El Toro 78-79. Nothing around us but orange groves.
My cousin was with a helicopter unit across the highway.
It was fun...

Not trying to be a wise-ass, but do you have raccoons in the area? Thanks for your service.

No need to thank me guys, I’m a contractor now, but I appreciate you guys. I did serve in the corps though. Those days are over.

The closest to a raccoon that we have here is **** heads. I live in Yuma, AZ man, we don’t have critters like that, that I know of anyway. I never noticed the top opening on its own but I’m still not ruling out that possibility until someone shares their experience. I just had my cousin pick up the truck and had him park it in front of his house. I know for sure it’ll be safe there but this is definitely something I want to prevent from happening to myself and others who have these covers.

Unfortunately, taking pictures is not her strong suit. But here’s one of them. The other pictures seem to be irrelevant to the tampering of the cover.
