Hey guys sorry been busy getting the truck finished as well as a week of SEMA and some time to catch up on other stuff the truck is pretty much done for now that is and came out great the Flir is awesome I'm headed up to the mountains tonight so ill try to get some pics of the display if anything gets in the way. and ill get some photos of it with all the decals off posted soon too.

1k - 1.5k feet doesn't seem that much. The lights on your truck should give you that visibility. Can someone explain or visualize the benefit of this for me?

ok simple it lets you see things that generate heat, like pedestrians, motor on a car etc. It lets you see in the dark or fog and through brush like seeing deer on the side of the road etc.. Its nice to know something is there before you need to know its there. I don't know how practical it would be on a moving truck on the highway unless it was dense fog but its a toy to play with... Technology is getting better and before long you will have a heads up display in the vehicle telling you whats where for several hundred to several thousand feet.
